Hen party (3 Sep.)
Anyone who thought that you could only have one hen party was wrong. We hadn't actually planned a hen party at all, but we hadn't counted on friends and parents. After the civil wedding had already been ushered in with a small hen party, our parents once again delighted us in Münster with their old things from the kitchen cupboard. This happened after we had decorated the St. Thomas-Morus Church for our wedding on Friday. The obligatory costumes speak for themselves.
Church wedding (4 Sep.)
Frank Hecker drove us to the wedding in his “puppet catcher”. The convertible was dressed up for the occasion – just like the guests at the wedding. The ceremony took place in the church of St. Thomas Morus with Pastor Klaus Honermann.
We were delighted to welcome a large crowd of guests from Münster, Munich, Bielefeld, Karlsruhe and other cities. The rest of the good atmosphere was probably created by the wonderful weather - even if some of the men in suits had to suffer a little because of it.
In these pictures, in addition to the family and the witnesses, there are also some guests who accompanied us through the studies. Tina is standing in the middle of the "Bielefeld troop" and one picture shows the officers of the KDStV Schwarzwald student association in the CV in Karlsruhe.
Celebration at the Tannenhof Inn
We celebrated our wedding at the Tannenhof inn. We took advantage of the good weather and welcomed our guests on the hotel terrace. There we had some time to chat with some of our friends - a rare opportunity on this day.
Over the course of the evening, we were also able to enjoy a number of performances. In addition to the short speech by the bride's father, Pit Brüggemann reviewed the (slightly longer) story of the bride and groom. Then it was Frank's turn: He presented a gift from all the guests, namely a cookbook. This contains the friends' favourite recipes - each written and designed in their own way. In addition, a special edition of the Westfälische Nachrichten reported on the bride and groom's past and preferences - even if not always completely truthful!
Of course, the bride and groom started the dance later in the evening after the dessert buffet with wedding cake. We were supported by the Cobanas from Paderborn, who were able to really get going, especially later in the evening. Before that, there were two performances by friends: a quiz with the destruction of various wedding gifts by the executioner (high school diploma) and a special broadcast of "A Heart for Animals" with Prof. Dr. Jöka Grzimek.
We don't want to withhold a special treat from you: the guest book. This was put together by our maid of honour Eva and her husband and we have placed it here.
